What Happened
The Reserve Bank of India has extended the period of its existing Directions issued under Section 35A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 against The Amanath Co-operative Bank Ltd., Bangalore. These directions had been in force since June 12, 2024 and were previously extended up to June 12, 2025. RBI has now continued the same directive for a further three months, from close of business on June 12, 2025 to close of business on September 12, 2025, subject to review. The release explicitly says all other terms and conditions remain unchanged and cautions that the extension should not be read as RBI being satisfied with the bank's financial position.
