What Happened
The Reserve Bank of India has further extended the existing Directions issued under Section 35A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 against The Amanath Co-operative Bank Ltd., Bangalore. The original directive dated June 12, 2024 had been extended earlier up to September 12, 2025, and is now extended again for three more months, from close of business on September 12, 2025 to close of business on December 12, 2025, subject to review. RBI also notes that the extension should not be construed as satisfaction with the bank's financial position and that all other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
