What Stood Out

Each finding is grounded in precomputed metrics. Open it to inspect the supporting numbers and the limits of the claim.

01

Severe actions made up a larger share of the quarter’s records

There were 34 severe actions, or 37.8% of the total, compared with 25, or 23.6%, in Q3 2025. The severity average was 2.46, while cancellation actions held at 5 and supersession actions rose to 2 from 0.

02

The penalty distribution shifted towards larger disclosed amounts

The 57 monetary-penalty actions had a median penalty of ₹1.5 lakh, compared with ₹1.6 lakh in Q3 2025. The maximum rose to ₹99.3 lakh from ₹75.0 lakh, while the top five penalties accounted for 71.5% of disclosed value, against 51.7% previously.

03

Banks accounted for more than the increase as co-operative value fell

Disclosed penalty value rose from ₹3.69 crore to ₹4.53 crore, an increase of ₹83.6 lakh. Banks recorded ₹3.24 crore against ₹1.61 crore previously and carried 195.1% of the change, while co-operative bank value fell from ₹1.81 crore to ₹1.02 crore. That share is above the total change because co-operative bank and payment entity values moved in the opposite direction.

04

The quarter had fewer action records and fresh actions

There were 90 action records, including 72 fresh actions and 16 extensions, compared with 106 records and 90 fresh actions in Q3 2025. The action count was down by 16 over the same 92-day window.
