What Happened
RBI had placed National Mercantile Co-operative Bank Ltd., Lucknow under directions under Section 35A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 on March 09, 2023, and those directions were subsequently modified and extended from time to time. The last extension continued them up to close of business on December 10, 2025. RBI has now withdrawn those directions after reviewing the bank's financial position, with effect from the close of business on November 21, 2025.
