What Happened
The Reserve Bank of India has extended the earlier Directions issued to Samarth Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd., Osmanabad, Maharashtra, under Section 35A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949. The earlier order, originally issued on October 06, 2025 and last extended to July 07, 2026, has now been continued for another three months, up to the close of business on October 07, 2026, subject to review. The RBI says all other terms and conditions of the directive remain unchanged and clarifies that the extension should not be construed as satisfaction with the bank's financial position.
