What Happened
The Reserve Bank of India has further extended the existing Directions issued under Section 35A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 against National Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd., Pratapgarh, U.P. The original directive dated April 15, 2024 had already been extended up to January 15, 2026, and this release continues it from close of business on January 15, 2026 to close of business on April 15, 2026, subject to review. The RBI states that all other terms and conditions of the directive remain unchanged, so the bank continues to operate under the same restrictions.
