What Happened
The Reserve Bank of India has extended the existing Directions issued under Section 35A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 against National Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd., Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. The original directive dated April 15, 2024 had been valid up to October 15, 2024; RBI has now extended it by three months, until the close of business on January 15, 2025. The release says the directive remains otherwise unchanged and is subject to review.
