What Happened
The Reserve Bank of India has extended the period of operation of its existing Directions under Section 35A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 in respect of Ramgarhia Co-operative Bank Ltd., New Delhi. The directive, originally issued on July 07, 2022 and last extended on October 06, 2025, has now been further extended from close of business on January 08, 2026 to close of business on April 08, 2026, subject to review. RBI said the extension is in public interest and clarified that it should not be construed as satisfaction with the bank's financial position; the other terms and conditions of the directive remain unchanged.
