What Happened
The Reserve Bank of India has extended the Directions issued under Section 35A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 against Sonpeth Nagari Sahakari Bank Maryadit, Sonpeth, Dist. Parbhani, Maharashtra. The directive, originally issued on July 29, 2025 and last extended up to April 30, 2026, now continues until the close of business on July 30, 2026, subject to review. RBI states that all other terms and conditions remain unchanged and clarifies that the extension should not be taken as satisfaction with the bank's financial position.
