What Happened
By an order dated February 27, 2026, RBI imposed a monetary penalty of ₹10,000 on Samruddhi Sahakari Bank Ltd., Nandgaon, Nashik, Maharashtra. The penalty was levied under Section 25 of the Credit Information Companies (Regulation) Act, 2005 after RBI's statutory inspection and show-cause process found non-compliance with directions on 'Submission of Data by Credit Institutions'. RBI specifically found that the bank had failed to submit credit information of its customers to any Credit Information Companies (CICs).
