Case Brief
What Happened
The Reserve Bank of India has extended the existing Directions issued under Section 35A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 against Sri Guru Raghavendra Sahakara Bank Niyamitha, Bengaluru, Karnataka. The earlier directive, originally issued on January 02, 2020, is now extended from close of business on November 10, 2025 to close of business on February 10, 2026, subject to review. The RBI says the extension is in public interest and clarifies that the move should not be interpreted as satisfaction with the bank’s financial position; all other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
