What Happened
The Reserve Bank of India has further extended the operation of its existing directions issued to The Suri Friends’ Union Co-operative Bank Ltd., Suri, West Bengal, under Section 35A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949. The directions, originally issued on July 21, 2022 and last extended to January 22, 2025, will now remain in force until close of business on April 22, 2025. RBI states that the extension is in the public interest and that all other terms and conditions of the directive remain unchanged.
