Case Brief
What Happened
RBI’s Board for Financial Supervision reviewed UCO Bank’s performance under the Prompt Corrective Action Framework and found that, based on its published results for the year ended March 31, 2021, the bank was not breaching PCA parameters. UCO Bank also committed in writing to keep meeting minimum regulatory capital, net NPA, and leverage ratio norms, and reported structural and systemic improvements. On that basis, RBI decided to remove the bank from PCA restrictions, though the bank remains subject to conditions and continuous monitoring.
