What Happened
RBI had issued Section 35A directions to Gomti Nagariya Sahkari Bank Ltd., Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh on July 03, 2017, and those directions were extended and modified over time, last up to May 10, 2019. In this release, RBI withdraws those directions in exercise of its powers under section 35A(2) of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 (as applicable to co-operative societies). The bank is therefore no longer under the earlier operational restrictions and can continue normal banking operations.
