What Happened
The Reserve Bank of India extended the existing Directions under Section 35A of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 (AACS) issued to Gomti Nagariya Sahakari Bank Ltd., Jaunpur (Uttar Pradesh). The extension was for four months, from July 11, 2018 to November 10, 2018, subject to review. The press release says the other terms and conditions of the directive would remain unchanged, and notes that the extension should not by itself be construed as an improvement or deterioration in the bank’s financial position.
