What Happened
The Reserve Bank of India extended the directions already in force against Brahmawart Commercial Co-operative Bank Ltd., Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The bank had been under Section 35A directions since July 07, 2015; those directions had earlier been modified and extended up to January 06, 2017, and were then further extended up to July 06, 2017, subject to review. RBI stated that the modification of the directive should not be construed as improvement or deterioration in the bank's financial position.
